Ooh, this may be an unusual answer though to each their own eh? I listen to a variety of Buddhist sutras or teachings of the Buddha recited by monks & practicing bhiksus and bhiksunis while working (I am currently listening to the Surangama Sutra where it’s said that this would be the last sutra to disappear from the world when it is about to be extinguised by moral decay so congrats, everyone, we’re still here – hahaha!). 🤣The sutras also help to maintain a disciplined mind and spirit to create meritorous deeds towards ascension in all that I do and helps to steer my moral and ethical compass throughout the day. It’s actually hard to go too long without listening to it too as also raised myself as the only Buddhist vegetarian in my family while growing up. Because the tone of the recitations are so pure and emerge from deep heartfelt souls of compassion, the recitations and Buddhist music also helps me to maintain life aim and is like an invisible hand that guides my life correctly, where even when the devices are off, I can still hear perfect recitations without missing a beat. It is now difficult for me to listen to secular music for too long as my emotions can be whisked away as am thrown off center to become distracted and eventually howling along. Lol. I will reminisce at times when hearing 80’s & 90’s pop, and soft rock tunes characteristic for Gen Xers that still bring waves of nostalgia and a curly smile though. Hehe.
